Scholarships & Awards

Banting has a number of potential awards and bursaries that are presented to deserving students at Commencement of their graduating year. These may be based upon highest mark in a course, leadership, citizenship, extra-curricular activities, volunteer activities, post-secondary destinations and course of study, and/or special circumstances. Some are awards students may apply for, while others are based on grades and/or teacher recommendations.

All graduating students are welcome to apply online for any of the awards. In addition, students may also apply to the external awards, that require an individual application for each award.

For more information on awards, scholarships and OSAP applications, please see your guidance counsellor or check your grade D2L shell.

OSAP

What is OSAP?

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university.

OSAP offers funding through:

  • grants: money you don’t have to pay back
  • a student loan: money you need to repay once you’re done school

When you apply for OSAP, we automatically consider you for both grants and a loan. If you don’t want to take a loan, and you’re a full-time or part-time student, you can decline it after your application is approved.

OSAP can help you pay for:

  • tuition
  • books and equipment
  • fees charged by your school
  • living expenses (full-time students only)
